All lessons are conducted at your preferred location. The most common meeting place is your home or library, however, I am open to meet anywhere that will
provide a quiet area to work. Unlike working with a company,
there are no commitments of any kind!
Individual Private Tutoring
This is the most ideal way to prepare for the SAT or ACT. All tutoring is individualized to meet the needs and learning style of the student. Homework will directly reflect concepts that require reinforcement based off of work done during sessions, missed homework problems, missed practice test problems and direct input from the student. Progress is tracked by practice tests once a baseline score is established. With one-to-one tutoring, the student's progress will dictate how time is spent during a lesson.
Small group tutoring more closely resembles a classroom style of learning. This is a more cost-effective alternative to individual tutoring. Instruction will be differentiated as much as possible, however, topics are taught at a pre-determined pace to meet the needs of all participating students. It is recommended that all students have similar skill levels in order to use the time during sessions most efficiently. Progress is also tracked by timely practiced tests.
Eleventh Hour Review
Comprehensive review sessions are offered for students who are in need of last minute review for an upcoming exam. This is helpful for a student who needs help studying 1-3 weeks before an exam. I will cover as many topics as time allows, beginning with the most frequently tested concepts. I will also go over basic test taking strategies and illustrate how the student should be studying on their own time leading up to the test. This ideally serves as only a refresher course.
